My first contribution

During the last few weeks, I have been learning more about the WordPress community and the Polyglots team. At first, I was a little confused because there are many teams and many ways to contribute. After reading the team handbook and learning how the translation team works, I started to understand the process better.

One of the first things I learned was that the Polyglots team helps translate WordPress into different languages. I decided to contribute by working on translations for Costa Rican Spanish. I suggested some translations and helped improve Spanish translations so they could be more useful and natural for people from Costa Rica. This was my first real contribution to the WordPress project, and it was interesting to see that even a small contribution can help a bigger project.

Reading the team handbook was also useful because it explained how the team works and how people can participate. I learned that contributors can suggest translations, communicate with other members, and help improve WordPress for people in different countries.

My first impression of the team is that it is very collaborative and open. People from different places can work together online. I also like that you do not have to be an expert to start contributing. You can learn while you participate.

So far, this experience has been positive for me. I am still learning how everything works, but I feel more comfortable than when I started. I would like to continue contributing translations for Costa Rican Spanish and learn more about how I can help the WordPress community.
